Cheryl L. Barrett

As a Partner at Ferruzzo and a member of the uncontested estate planning and trust administration group,  Cheryl Barrett has followed a natural career path to her position. Although she originally aspired to be a broadcast journalist, the premature death of her mother led her to dedicate her career to a profession focused on helping others   Fortunately, Cheryl has achieved part of her broadcast goal by appearing on KABC and KCAA radio talk shows and being quoted in the Orange County Register, the Los Angeles Times, Forbes, The Huffington Post, and the Business Insider on the subject of estate planning.

The primary areas of Cheryl’s practice consist of counseling clients on their estate planning options and drafting trusts, wills, powers of attorney, and related estate planning documents. Her trust administration services guide trustees through the myriad legal and tax rules and regulations that they must adhere to as trustees.

Cheryl is an Orange County native. Following her graduation from law school, Cheryl practiced Family Law but after some time, she decided to change her practice to an area of law that allows her to build rather than take things apart with her clients. She established Barrett Law Offices, where she was gratified to work with people and families who love and care for each other. Additionally, her trust administration and probate practice enabled her to assist people at a time in their lives when empathetic guidance and professional expertise are crucial. Outgrowing her solo practice, Cheryl joined Ferruzzo in 2003.

In Cheryl’s free time, she loves to travel with her daughter. She is also a film aficionado, a fan of the Pacific Symphony, a loyal customer of Barnes & Noble, and is excelling at her Duolingo Spanish.
