CIVIL LITIGATION & EMPLOYMENT

As Co-Chair of the Litigation Practice Group at Ferruzzo, Vasko has been a stalwart defender of clients’ interests for the last 25 years. He is an ardent promoter of justice and civility in the practice of law and the creation of client-counselor relationships as collaborations to evolve a business, a dispute, a problem-to-be-solved into a mature progression and innovative outcome. Vasko accomplishes this with curiosity, creativity, and strategic capability while guiding ethical and sustainable trajectories for his clients’ goals.

Vasko collaborates with his clients, as well as key experts and consultants, to create a focused, proficient team of professionals to meet and surmount legal and practical obstacles.

Novel, complex, and often, ‘bet the company,’ stakes are key components of Vasko’s practice. He represents start-up entrepreneurs and legacy family companies as lead counsel in the most intricate and challenging investigations, disputes, and cases. His work ranges from multi-month jury trials to defeating demands and claims in pre-litigation mediations or early dispositions.

For Vasko, winning is as important as avoiding the expense and fatigue of litigation for his clients.  He knows that they need to return to the business of doing business. His passion for the law is only equaled by his passion for his clients’ causes and their long-term reputational, physical, and emotional well-being.

Vasko began his legal practice in criminal defense and then focused on catastrophic personal injury, representing both Plaintiff and Defense. His mentors and trial experience included collaborations and clashes with the preeminent personal injury lawyers in California, Texas, and New York.

Vasko has also served as a Temporary Judge and is currently General Counsel to the Escrow Institute of California, a non-profit that advocates for nearly 300 independent escrow companies in California. This rich jurisprudential background gives Vasko a broad perspective on case assessment, issue aggregation, and outcome evaluation.

Born and raised in Bulgaria, Vasko was the child of immigration and escaped from an oppressive communist regime. He grew up among Hollywood’s diverse cultures and has traveled extensively to seek perspective and engender relationships borne out of gratitude, generosity, patience, and respect. His varied background and upbringing prepared him to deal with the most tenacious situations, even those steeped in adversarial discourse or outright vexatious conflict.

Vasko is a patriot and champion of justice and the inviolate and necessary jury system. His commitment to his clients and the practice of law carries forward his devotion to the principles of freedom.

In his free time, Vasko is an avid Leica photographer, self-proclaimed foodie, chaser of wheaten terriers, and co-adventurer with his family as they travel around the planet.
